Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming
This is the first course you can do to become a swimming teacher. You need no previous experience but a love for teaching children new skills will certainly help. Once completed you will be able to teach up to 12 children or adults independently from non swimmers to improver levels. You may also act as an assistant swimming teacher and can teach larger classes or advanced skills under direct supervision of a swim teacher qualified to Certificate level. You’ll also be qualified to deliver up to the Goldfish stage of STA’s progressive International Learn to Swim Programme.

Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming
This course will qualify you to teach all levels of swimming from non swimmers to advanced. You will learn the advanced techniques of each stroke, diving, competitive starts and turns, survival and rescue skills. You will also be able to teach the full range of the International Learn to Swim Programme independently.

Baby & Pre School
This course will enable you to teach accompanied babies and pre school age children. You can take this course with no previous swim teaching qualification and will be qualified to teach the STARFISH and STAnley stages of STA’s progressive International Learn to Swim Programme.
We will be running this course on 29th, 30th and 31st May 2024 & 31st July, 1st & 2nd August 2024

Level 3 Baby & Pre School Diploma
The Level 3 course is for current Baby & Pre School qualified teachers of at least 6 months who wish to extend their knowledge and learn about the latest academic research and theories which you will then be able to integrate within your own swimming lessons. This qualification has been developed in partnership with Birthlight.

Safety Award for Teachers
This course will provide you with safety cover for swimming sessions. Holders of this qualification will learn pool rescues, first aid, adult, child and infant CPR techniques and poolside emergencies.
We are running these courses on the following dates: 14th April, 2nd June, 21st July 2024. More dates will be added later in the year.
